Straw, English straw, or claim drinking straw, is a cylindrical, hollow plastic product, and its main function is to drink beverage in the cup, also has the bone marrow that is used to suck the long bone of some cooked animals.
Generally, the diameter is about 0.5cm, but when used to suck drinks such as yogurt and pearl milk tea, thicker straws are used, and some have a diameter of 1.2cm. Some less common, extremely small diameter straws are used for drinking hot beverages.
The straw is based on the principle of atmospheric pressure. When using it, sucking away part of the air against the straw will cause the pressure inside the pipe to decrease. In order to balance the air pressure, the atmospheric pressure will force the liquid in the pipe to rise. When the inhalation is stopped, the liquid in the tube drops, and the pressure returns to equilibrium. This is the wonderful principle and application of straws. After the invention of plastic, because the flexibility and aesthetics of plastic are better than paper straws, paper straws have been replaced by colorful plastic straws.
Production method: After the plastic is melted, it passes through the extrusion die, which is the so-called mouthpiece, and then the machine extrudes the plastic like a syringe (this process is continuous, there is a screw on the machine, and it will be extruded at a certain speed). When the plastic is still softened, it is fed into the machine, directly formed, and then cut by the machine later, and it becomes the straws we see.
